Offers public housing based on income to low-income individuals. They permit the individuals or families to live in the city owned property, paying rent, for up to five years in order to get credit and personal situation settled. Then the individual or family have the option to obtain their own financing to purchase the property.

Saint Joseph Housing Authority strives to provide safe, clean and affordable housing to low income families and the elderly and disabled through Section 8 vouchers and Public Housing. Anyone in need of housing is eligible to apply as long as they are willing to live in Saint Joseph city limits.
